In light of the article in the June 17th edition of the Courier Times in which multiple email exchanges between; County Commissioners P.J. Gentry, Charlie Palmer and Person County GOP President Chris Weaver, Vice President John Seepe and former EDC member Elizabeth Bradsher and former employee of Piedmont Community College Jimmie Whitfield, were made available to the public, the constituents of Person County do so in signing this petition, formally call for the resignation of office, or removal from office through legal proceedings within the power of the Board of Commissioners, or District 9A Attorney Mike Waters, Commissioners PJ Gentry and Charlie Palmer for misconduct and unethical behavior. 

The language used in the emails and the collusion and conspiracy outlined within, does show that both Mr. Palmer and Mrs. Gentry have within the last several months, attempted to discredit, subvert,  and assassinate the character of Dr. Pamela Senegal, President of Piedmont Community College. It also shows a general lack of respect for the Chair of the Person County Commissioners, Gordon Powell, who Mr. Palmer called “whacked out” in reference to a June 7th meeting, and further went on to say “It was embarrassing to watch as he stumbled about. He truly is a whack job!”

Mr. Palmer also went on to criticize Dr. Senegal, writing “Senegal is very wicked. There’s proof of this forthcoming from a classmate of mine that she hammered into the ground that worked in administrative duties there. Until she had him escorted out of the office and off campus. She kept his laptop that contained some personal transactions and personal credit card info. There’s a case being built against her nefarious actions coming soon. She’s a viper in the wood line and I pray she gets the Ax from the state. But she had been booted from several other administrator positions and somehow stays on the states payroll. Our tax payers are paying her to do dirty work! I call B.S. that’s why I threw so many questions at her last week. And she couldn’t answer much of anything I asked. My friend is advised to remain quiet until the case develops, and so should we. But be very cautious of this demonic creature.” 

What is just as detrimental to the constituents of Person County is the apparent guidance given to commissioners by Elizabeth Bradsher. Per the emails she provides speaking points as well as posting on social media on the behalf of Mr. Palmer via the Facebook group “Person County Local” administrated by the President of the Person County GOP Chris Weaver. It seems that this group has become the bulletin board for the narrative being driven and has sewn division amongst the citizens of Person County. 

For these reasons and more the signers of this petition ask for better representation that’s inclusive of all Person County citizens, responsible leadership, unbiased reporting of information, and ethical behavior on the part of its commissioners.
