Alan Wake II can run on a 2013 processor in 4K resolution, at the highest settings, with Path Tracing enabled. If Remedy provided a game launcher for processors with AVX instructions, like normal game developers do, it would be possible to achieve over 60 FPS even on this older processor. However, Remedy decided to block the game from running on processors without AVX2 instructions, which is a rather baffling decision.
My 11-year-old Xeon E5-1680 v2 processor without AVX2 is emulating an Intel Core i5-4670T, which has AVX2 instructions. Due to this emulation, everything runs much slower than it should, at around 20-25 FPS. On this machine, I can get even more, 25-30FPS, but I was using a screen recording program.
