Hi, My name is Drew, i’m a boca raton resident, born and raised. In our community of Boca Raton, there is a growing concern regarding Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) and flock cameras. These devices, under the guise of public safety, have started infringing on our fundamental rights. Notably, they pose a severe threat to our 4th Amendment rights which safeguard us against unreasonable searches and seizures.

There is a glaring lack of public transparency in how these cameras are operating. No public disclosure has been provided regarding their effectiveness. To our knowledge, there haven't been any reports or evidence showing that these cameras have contributed to solving human trafficking, drug trafficking cases, or even simple traffic violations such as speeding. Their presence, therefore, seems unwarranted and ineffective in achieving their supposed purpose.

More alarmingly, the recent updates in the flock system enable these cameras to track Bluetooth signals. This means they can construct a digital profile of our daily activities, habits, and even associations. Such invasive technology erodes our right to privacy. They track where we go, who we meet, and potentially exploit this information for dynamic pricing and other manipulative practices.

As residents of Boca Raton, we deserve a say in these surveillance methods implemented in our community. The lack of clarity and accountability over the camera's functions further emphasizes the need for a thorough evaluation and reconsideration of their presence in our city.

We are calling for the removal of these ALPR flock cameras from Boca Raton to protect the constitutional rights of residents, ensure public trust, and prevent unwarranted surveillance.
