I grew up on console gaming, but my life changed when one of my best friends introduced me to Steam. I was playing games that truly mattered, sharing unique, memorable experiences with friends who, like me, were passionate about the innovative side of gaming, not just about screaming at each other on the internet. Valve originals and other blockbuster titles became the cornerstone of my youth, shaping moments of my teen years I will forever cherish.

Today, Steam is being compromised by publishers who create violent and obscene content—a plethora of so-called 'adults-only' video games that are nothing more than interactive adult videos. These games are ruining the platform for everyone who, like me, values substance and creativity over gratuitous and explicit content. Each publication on Steam carries weight and significance in shaping the culture and community that surrounds it.

Allowing adults-only games not only dilutes the vibrant and inclusive gaming community but also pushes the focus away from innovative, meaningful gameplay experiences. Steam should nurture creativity, support original game designs, and uphold community standards that reflect all gamers who seek more than just shock value.

By removing adults-only content, Steam can protect its legacy and ensure a platform where groundbreaking ideas continue to thrive. This is a call to Valve to take a stand for the content that once made Steam a beloved platform for gamers of all ages.
