The Issue

To the Families, Sponsors, and Supporters of Cuba Youth Football,

We, the undersigned members of the Cuba community, respectfully submit this petition requesting the immediate removal of Samantha McKimm, President and Kaytee Moreland, Secretary from their positions on the Cuba Youth Football Program Board.

Our program belongs to the community, the children, and the families who participate. To protect the integrity, transparency, and future of Cuba Youth Football, we must hold leadership accountable.

Grounds for Removal

The following failures of leadership have been observed and documented:

-Failure to produce requested financial reports as requested by parents.

-Failure to produce meeting minutes when requested by parents.

-Failure to provide a current list of active board members.

-Failure to produce or share updated bylaws for the program.

-Failure to follow the most recent bylaws (2022 revision), which require 7 active board members.

-Failure to maintain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

-Failure to file required IRS Form 990 for three consecutive years, which resulted in revocation of tax-exemption status.

-Failure to address legitimate questions and concerns raised by parents.

-Failure to meet expectations for sponsors and donors, resulting in the loss of repeat supporters.

-Failure to maintain basic health and safety standards in the concession stand.

Loss of Funding and Community Support

Under the leadership of Samantha McKimm and Kaytee Moreland, the Cuba Youth Football Program has experienced a significant loss of financial support and community trust:

In prior years, the program benefitted from 20+ financial sponsors who helped fund equipment, uniforms, and opportunities for the children. Today, the program has fewer than 5 active sponsors.
Because the program has lost its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, parents and players are unable to seek new sponsorships, as businesses cannot claim tax benefits for their donations.
This has resulted in a severe decline in program funding, leaving the children — the very heart of Cuba Youth Football — to suffer the consequences of poor leadership.

Our Request

The community places its trust in board leadership to ensure accountability, transparency, and the safe operation of the Cuba Youth Football Program. In light of the above, we find that Samantha McKimm and Kaytee Moreland have failed to fulfill their duties and should be removed from their positions immediately.

We call on the remaining board members and community stakeholders, parents, family members and players to honor this petition and take immediate corrective action to safeguard the future of Cuba Youth Football.
