We want to keep everyone informed about the current state of Cuba Youth Football Program’s leadership, finances, and nonprofit status.
Removal of Additional Board Members
In addition to the concerns previously raised, we believe it is in the best interest of the Cuba Youth Football Program to remove the following individuals from the board:
Jake Moreland — His public behavior on Facebook has been threatening and unprofessional, which reflects poorly on the organization and creates an unsafe environment for parents, volunteers, and players. Board members are expected to uphold a standard of conduct that fosters trust, respect, and safety, and his actions have violated that expectation.
Aimee Halbert — She has repeatedly spread misinformation to parents and community members, creating confusion and mistrust. Furthermore, she failed to take timely action to address serious issues within the program. This negligence has contributed to the current state of disorganization and lack of transparency. She informed parents that she “recently joined as board Treasurer”, however, there are legal documents submitted by her stating “as of February 10, 2025, I am residing Treasurer of Cuba Youth Football”.
For these reasons, we call for their removal alongside the previously named individuals so that the program may move forward with leadership committed to accountability, professionalism, and the well-being of our youth athletes.
📌 IRS Revocation
As shown in the official IRS database, the program’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status was automatically revoked on May 15, 2025 for failing to file Form 990s for three consecutive years. The revocation was publicly posted on August 12, 2025. There is no reinstatement date listed — meaning the program is not in good standing with the IRS at this time, despite statements from the programs Treasurer stating it is.
📌 State & Federal Tax Exemption Confusion
A recent message from leadership admits that Cuba Youth Football has never once in its entire existence applied for or used a Missouri State Tax ID or exemption. The treasurer is now attempting to complete this paperwork for the first time. It was previously stated that the program’s state tax exemption status was active.
At the same time, conflicting statements have been given about the federal exemption — with the IRS record showing revocation, but internal conversations suggesting otherwise. This contradiction has not been resolved, and the only official record available confirms revocation.
📌 Financial Transparency Issues
Receipts have not been kept, making reconciliation impossible.
The bank account being used for program funds is reportedly in an individual’s name rather than in the organization’s name.
Only one month of financial records has been made available despite repeated requests for full disclosure.
📌 Board Member Conduct
Concerns about leadership behavior continue to grow. Jake Moreland, listed as a board member and husband of officer Kaytee Moreland, made the following public Facebook post just days ago:
“Rip football in Cuba, y’all some mouthy fuckin bitches after we decide to move… Fuck you and I’ll look forward to seeing you all in the fall… If you got the guts, coward ass fuckin bitches.”
This type of threatening and hostile language is completely unacceptable from someone in a leadership position within a youth program.
⚠️ Why This Matters
Our community deserves a youth football program that operates with transparency, accountability, professionalism, and compliance with the law. Right now, we are facing:
Loss of federal nonprofit status
No valid Missouri tax exemption on record
Missing receipts and incomplete financial accountability
Inappropriate and threatening conduct from board leadership
This is not the standard our kids deserve.
We are demanding:
Immediate release of complete financial records
Action to reinstate federal tax-exempt status
Proper use of a nonprofit bank account, not a personal one
New leadership that demonstrates professionalism and accountability
Please continue to share this petition. Together, we can demand the integrity and transparency that Cuba Youth Football needs in order to truly serve our children and our community.
