The world that Kazuma Kamachi has created—a thrilling blend of science and magic—has always fascinated me, and The battle royale and World War III arcs are some of my favourite arcs in fiction. However, season 3 of this beloved series was a rushed shadow of the novels that I hold dear. It was disappointing to see a story with such potential, fall short of its promise due to extreme pacing issues and lack of detail that made the novels so engaging.
A Certain Magical Index III had the opportunity to set a new standard for anime and bring the richness of the novels to screen effectively. Unfortunately, the adaptation struggled to faithfully capture the essence of the books, leaving numerous plotlines unresolved and key character developments underexplored. The rapid pace at which the story was adapted not only left out substantial content but also confused viewers who were not familiar with the novels, missing the opportunity to broaden its audience.
I believe that J.C staff can do justice to Kamachi's work with a remake. A remake would provide a more faithful adaptation, satisfying longtime fans and attracting new ones. It could mirror how adapting works with deep narratives can enrich the anime culture, serving as an exemplar of fan loyalty and respect for original content.
A remake would also allow for a smooth transition into an adaptation of New Testament, given plot points and characters would be fully fleshed out and there would be renewed interest in the series, especially with the upcoming season 4 of railgun and season 1 of ITEM
