The Issue

Chester Connecticut has always been a picturesque and tranquil town with a tight-knit community. However the recent proposal for the installation of a massive cell phone tower at 16 Grote Road in a residential neighborhood will disrupt the tranquility and raise significant health concerns among residents.

The 130' towering structure will be situated in the middle of a family neighborhood and not only undermines the visual aesthetics of the community but potentially impacts property values as well. More importantly, there are concerns regarding the long-term health implications of living in close proximity to these structures. While studies on the health effects of cell towers are ongoing, some research suggests potential risks could exist.

The necessity for robust communication networks, especially in our town, is understood. However, the placement of such infrastructure should not compromise the well-being and peace of a community nor should it overlook the preferences of its residents. We ask for alternative locations within Chester or surrounding areas for the relocation of this tower, which would still provide the necessary network coverage without the adverse effects on residential life.

We call upon our local government officials, the Board of Selectmen and the Planning & Zoning Commission along with relevant companies to take action in exploring and implementing solutions that respect the health and aesthetic values of Chester residents. The relocation of this cell tower is not just a practical move, but a step towards maintaining the harmonious environment that Chester is known for.

Please sign this petition to support the relocation of the Homeland cell phone tower and help preserve the integrity and health of our beloved community.
