As a fresh, new year begins,
I want to thank all of you for signing this petition in support of
the relocation of the Chester CT Grote Road cell tower.
In the summer of 2025 we formed a neighborhood group, TFN (Tower-Free Neighborhoods)
and worked tirelessly thruout the year educating the public
on the health side effects, the decrease of property values, and the loss of quality of life.
We produced postcards, brochures, knocked on doors, spoke to cell tower experts and attorneys,
organized our research online, took field trips to other towns to learn what they implemented,
reached out to senators and congressmen, sent out press releases and participated in interviews.
We met at public hearings, at meetings with our selectmen and within our neighborhood to organize.
Several members toured the area searching for alternative spaces for the cell tower that would not
impose on residential life.
One of our neighbors raised a helium balloon 130’ to show the location.
To see the balloon in so many yards was disheartening.
Our group can honestly say we have learned alot about cell towers and alternative technology
as have our decision makers.
On December 9, 2025 our First Selectwoman Cindy Lignar and our Selectman Paul Radicchi voted to
relocate the cell tower as they continue to work towards bringing improved cell service to the town of
Chester. It is a win-win for everyone in town.
And now I send a big thank you to all of you. It really does take a village. Happy New Year!
