The Goldfish Slide has always been more than just a playground attraction to me. Growing up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, some of my fondest memories were on that very slide, laughing and playing with friends, feeling the thrill of the slide and the warmth of shared joy. Now, as a parent, I yearn for my children to experience that same nostalgia, to create their own memories on the Goldfish Slide just as I did.

Unfortunately, the Goldfish Slide currently resides in the Pines Mall, which is now closed due to vandalism and destruction of property. This iconic slide, which has been a staple in Pine Bluff's history and a symbol of childhood adventure for many, is now abandoned and neglected. It deserves better than to sit unused and forgotten in a desolate, closed space.

This petition is a call to action to relocate the Goldfish Slide to a playground, park, or community center where the children of Pine Bluff can once again enjoy its charm and excitement. Not only would this preserve a cherished part of our community’s history, but it would also enrich the lives of our children, providing a safe and joyful place to play and create memories.

The Goldfish Slide is a martyr for the childhood memories of our city and our youth. Let’s come together to ensure that future generations in Pine Bluff have the opportunity to create beautiful memories just as we did. By relocating the slide to a place where it can be utilized and loved, we honor our past while investing in the happiness of our future.
