This law, detailed in the link, was a progressive move by the French government and came into effect in 2016. 3 years on, we have many countries wanting to follow suit, implement regulations and laws in their own land to fight food waste and end hunger.

Many private companies have also taken cognisance of the fact that throwing away useable and safe to consume foods is terribly wasteful.

Watch this recent report as part of the 'Future of Food' series (which is supported in partnership with the Pulitzer Center), talking about the impact of this particular law- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhgaJI3sOMA

We as a nation cannot continue to misuse or abuse our resources, in any form. A zero food waste policy, when successfully implemented, ensures that a national company with extensive reach, like Reliance Fresh, will mindfully manage food products nearing the end of their shelf lives.

Do we need to wait for the laws of our country to mandate it before companies fall in line and take action?
Reliance Fresh and Reliance Foundation, can we not make this happen as responsible business owners and customers?

I'm overwhelmed by the support of nearly 165,000 people, who have signed and shared this petition. Can we give Reliance Fresh and Reliance Foundation a shoutout on social media and ask them to respond to us?
