While our government is channelling more funds to fight malnutrition in India than before, private companies are joining hands with NGO's to do their bit towards this issue. The recent deaths of over 140 children in Muzaffarpur, Bihar is a disturbing tragedy and one of the main culprits identified was malnutrition.
The nation watched when Smt Nita Ambani and family started off the wedding celebration of her daughter Isha in December 2018 with 3 days of 'Anna Seva' in Udaipur for over 5000 people. Donating food is indeed an auspicious way to commemorate a celebration. It is great that the Ambani family practised this noble gesture.
Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries already focuses on rural transformation and health and they could make real headway with tacking malnutrition challenges. This will perfectly align with Reliance Fresh's fight against food waste as and when the company makes its policy and intent clear.
I am yet to hear from any of the decision makers on our petition ask but with your continued support, I will keep at it.
