

The Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek star passed away on Friday, her manager confirmed in a statement to People.
TMZ also confirmed the shocking news.
The Los Angeles Fire Department told Page Six they responded to a call to her home at 4:48 a.m. local time.
She was transported to a local hospital in “serious” condition.
A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
O’Hara skipped the Golden Globes awards on January 11, despite receiving a nomination for Best Supporting Performance in a Female Actor for her role in the Apple+ series, The Studio.
Her nomination was announced in December, but it wasn’t clear why she didn’t attend the ceremony.
She was last seen in September 2025, posing on the red carpet with her husband, Bo Welch, at an Emmys bash.

O’Hara was born in Toronto, Canada, before moving to America.
Her career spanned more than 50 years in TV, movies, screenwriting and as a comic.
She started her career in sketch series Second City Television in the mid-1970s.
She has two children with her husband.
O’Hara won a Primetime Emmy Award as part of the show.Her film acclaim came in films like After Hours and Heartburn.
But she shot to superstardom in the Home Alone series and Beetlejuice.
Her last movie role was in a documentary about John Candy, which came out last year.
Tributes to the star immediately flooded social media.
“RIP Catherine O’ Hara. I know John Candy greeted her with open arms.”, one fan said.
Another added on X: “Catherine O’Hara was an absolute genius for the entirety of her career.
“She will be terribly missed.”
