Kshamenk, a 35-year-old orca, has been tormented with loneliness for a quarter of a century in an aquarium in Argentina. His story pierces the heart of anyone with the smallest sense of compassion. Kshamenk lost his tankmate in 2000, and since then, he has been living in solitude for the last 24 years. This is an atrocity beyond comprehension for a such a highly social creature as an orca. Tragically, he spends his days and nights staring at the gate of his confined tank, possibly yearning for freedom or the company of his kind.

The status of his confinement is far from the natural environment these majestic creatures are accustomed to. In the wild, orcas move in large pods, maintaining complex social structures. They are known to travel up to 100 miles a day, a stark contrast to the constraints of Kshamenk's tiny tank.

We are not only arguing for Kshamenk's freedom but if this is unattainable, at the very least, we urge for drastically improved housing conditions and the introduction of companionship of his own species. The torment that Kshamenk has suffered for years is far beyond what any living creature should endure. This is not just about improving the life of one lonely orca; it's about taking responsibility for our actions and advocating for respect and compassion for all sentient beings.

Enough has been enough for a long time. We demand immediate action for Kshamenk's plight. Let us stand together to ensure that his suffering stops, so that his remaining years can be spent in harmony with his own species in a humane and compassionate environment. We implore you to show your support by signing this petition. Let's fight for Kshamenk's freedom and happiness.

Protection laws exist in the Argentinian government here is a link

Kshamenk should definitely be protected under these existing laws
