Immigrant deaths in ICE custody are rising — but transparency is declining.

This year alone, at least 16 detainees have died. In the past, ICE released detailed reports outlining what happened, including timelines, medical care, and causes of death.

Now, those reports have been reduced to short summaries — and in some cases, not released at all.

Families, the public, and Congress are being left without answers.

When people die in government custody, full transparency is not optional — it is essential.

We are calling on the Department of Homeland Security and ICE to immediately restore full, detailed reporting on all detention deaths and release all outstanding reports.
