Today March 1, first day of Women’s History month, the petition by over 2000 signatories demanding the release of Sen. Leila was submitted and received by the Office of Justice Secretary Remulla. It was a struggle to enter DOJ much more reach his office but with perseverance and determination, I was able to personally hand our petition. It’s mind boggling how citizens have to go through the eye of a needle to access a public office. How can a Department of Justice be so unwelcoming to people advocating for justice? Isn’t that why it was created: to cater and respond to people’s demand for justice? #FreeLeilaNow
