Free Leila supporters in different venues and activities of the EDSA anniversary celebration called for her immediate release. At EDSA Shrine, young activists presented cultural numbers depicting the continuing struggle for democracy, freedom and human rights. Veritas organized a panel discussion featuring martial law victims, a former Justice, incumbent Congressman, Pastors, Priests and 1986 Constitution authors to share their stories, insights and advocacies. A concelebrated mass led by Bishop Bacani stressed the role of the Church in social and political change. In the afternoon, the Movement Against Disinformation (MAD) organized a forum on " Preserving and Defending the Memory of EDSA People Power and the Horrors of Martial Law," where I joined the panel and shared Sen. Leilas's story of political persecution.
