Benbrook Residents please vote for City Council

Neighbors,
Early Voting is open today until 7 PM!
Election Day is next Tuesday, November 4.
This election matters for Benbrook’s safety, flood protection, and future.
Only 2,400 citizens voted in the last election — and there are more people on this email list alone. Your vote can truly make the difference.
Why this election matters
Many of you stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the fight against Rowan Ranch floodplain development (Save Mary’s Creek).
That fight isn’t over — Corey Waldrop has requested another Planning & Zoning hearing for rezoning.
While details aren’t yet posted (expected in a couple of weeks), this shows exactly why we need leaders who act before problems happen — not after.
Who to support
Please vote for candidates who will take a proactive, measurable approach to protecting Benbrook:
✅ Ryan Reagan — City Council, Place 3
✅ Sean Moore — City Council, Place 5
✅ Derrick Varnell — City Council, Place 7
Our Focus
1️⃣ Raise Benbrook’s CRS Rating (currently a 6).
The Community Rating System (CRS) determines how much residents pay for flood insurance.
Better scores mean lower premiums and stronger floodplain protection.
2️⃣ Update Ordinances to Stop “Fill & Build.”
We’ll modernize local codes to protect floodplains as open space, prevent risky development, and align with cities that have higher CRS scores.
3️⃣ Appoint the Right Planning & Zoning Commissioners.
City Council selects P&Z members. We need commissioners who follow our Comprehensive Plan and protect the floodplain.
The last unanimous recommendation to approve Rowan Ranch showed how urgently change is needed.
