Reject the Proposed Planning Permission for a Glamping Site in Oxton, Southwell

Reject the Proposed Planning Permission for a Glamping Site in Oxton, Southwell
The Issue
We residents of Oxton Hill, Southwell, are deeply concerned about the proposed planning permission (Reference - 23/01333/FULM) to transform a local paddock field into a glamping site. This development poses significant risks and uncertainties for our community and environment.
The proposed site usage raises major concerns due to potential noise pollution, risk of fire & flooding to neighbouring village, with general public nuisance increase to surrounding properties. The unsupervised user access will not only disrupt our peaceful community but also pose an increased risk of accidents due to traffic influx.
The Non-existence of public paths to any local amenities restricts/discourages the elderly and disabled from ever using the site and points toward long term occupation, which is not what these plans are designed to encourage in terms of operation. Travelling from site to local amenities will be by car, van or on the main road in the traffic.
Our natural environment is at stake: The land houses rare and protected animals like the Crested newt, photographed after being found on the site and disregarded on the ecology report, that could suffer irreversible damage from this development. We fear the environmental impact will be profound and detrimental.
Land covenants are in place to protect the local residents, natural beauty and wildlife interests, but we are advised that the council planning committee will not take these into consideration and that this will then become an ongoing civil matter, if they pass the plans and therefore moving the issues raised on for a later time, rather than stopping the plans now !
Potential Change in Use:
There are strong reasons to believe that the individual involved in the planning application intends
to change the use further to accommodate mobile homes and caravan structures for use on a permanent basis..
It's important to note that this application was originally rejected by the Parish council for valid reasons. Reconsidering it now disregards those initial concerns without any substantial change in circumstances or mitigation measures.
We need your support now more than ever! A large opposition response is required to protect our community from these potential hazards. Please join us in voicing against this planning permission – let's preserve the tranquillity of Oxton & Southwell for future generations!
