Reject the Construction of a McDonald's Drive-Thru in Stirchley

The Issue

As a resident of the community of Stirchley, I am against the proposed plans to build a McDonald's drive-thru and restaurant on Pershore Road/Hazelwell Lane. The unchecked developments pose real and damaging effects on our high street - societal, environmental, and economical.

We consider the inevitable results of this construction - even more traffic, even worse congestion, increased noise and air pollution, and even angrier drivers beeping horns and shouting abuse. Even more massive lorries, heightened noise pollution and litter - issues the community already struggles with.

Furthermore, this addition would impose severe pressure on our local businesses. Small enterprises, already grappling with rising costs in a challenging climate, will face an even more difficult situation. This could potentially lead to the erosion of the unique character and diversity that our high street is proud to uphold, leaving nothing but a wasteland of boring chains siphoning off money to disperse to their CEOs and shareholders.

We love Stirchley for its unique spirit and character - a spirit rooted in small businesses, supported by a great community that appreciates the value of independent businesses, not big international chains. Therefore, we must step up to protect our community from the potential damage this proposed construction poses.

Sign this petition and stand together  against unwanted, unnecessary developments. Together, we can preserve Stirchley's independent weirdness, protect the interests of our community, economy, and environment. Prevent more of the same old stuff you see everywhere moving in - every signature brings us closer to our goal.
