Hi Friends!
The City Of Dallas's Survey on Alley Trash Service should arrive by mail this week. It is a simple, 4 question survey being used to determine how committed homeowners are to keeping their trash pick up in the alleys. It's very important that everyone takes the time to fill it out and express their thoughts and concerns. The future of your neighborhood alley trash collection will depend on it. A non-answer may be interpreted as an acceptance of moving the trash to the curb!
Please get with your neighbors to be sure everyone is responding.
Answers may be given 3 ways: 1. by return mail, 2. online or 3. by phone.
**While homeowners are responsible for keeping the easements in their alleys clear of vegetation, the City is responsible for the alley infrastructure. If you feel your alley needs repairs by the City, call 3-1-1 and report it. ..And report it as many times as needed to get a response!!
Another notice that we have been made aware of this week is the following:
We will conduct property-to-property inspections along the alley/rear easements and front yard area to the curb within your entire block on 11/19/25.
THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF VIOLATION OR A CITATION
The purpose of this letter is to allow you the opportunity to correct any violations that may exist on your property prior to the inspection. Upon our inspection, the Department of Code Compliance may issue a formal notice and/or citation to those properties found to have violations.
The most common violations include:

The Dallas City Code requires that the owners, tenants, or persons in control maintain the area between the curb in front of the property to the middle of the alley/easement, free of high grass and weeds, litter and trash, storage, and obstructions at all times. Any business operating within the city of Dallas is required to operate within the boundaries of the required zoning and maintain the appropriate permits and certificates.
