Thankyou everyone for participating in our petition so far!

I thought you be interested to know this Tuesday’s 28th November at 7pm, Randwick Councillor Luxford will raise a motion regarding the development at 215B Anzac Parade at Randwick Council Chambers.

This is an opportunity to speak to the Council to emphasise our objection to the proposed Development.

If you are interested in speaking to council, you can ring council to register your interest.  We would love some residents who are directly affected to raise issues in the meeting.

Any person wishing to address the Council meeting must register their intention to do so with Council's Administrative Staff on 1300 722 542 no later than 2pm on the day of the meeting. Presentations in powerpoint or pdf formats under 10Mb can be emailed to submission@randwick.nsw.gov.au no later than 2pm on the day of the meeting.

Councillor Luxford’s motion:

Motion: That Council reinforces its objection to the development proposed by UNSW / Iglu at 215B Anzac Parade Kensington by reviewing its current LEP & DCP controls to ensure that any development on the site does not exceed 12m in height and incorporates a large civic space to Anzac Pde. This would preserve the amenity of the neighbouring residential properties and NIDA.

Background: The above-mentioned development in what now is a carpark at 215B Anzac Parade Kensington is a total overdevelopment of the site and a great impost of the residents of Doncaster Avenue whose backyards will lose solar access and will have lack of visual privacy. There are many reasons for this development to not proceed but most importantly it is the complete lack of regard for the residents of Kensington who have to deal with the after effects of in appropriate overdevelopment in the area.
