Twenty-three years ago, Stacey Ian Humphreys walked into a model home office in Powder Springs, Georgia, held two young real estate agents at gunpoint, and shot them both to death. Lori Brown was 21 years old and had just started planning her wedding. Cyndi Williams was 33 and had taken Lori under her wing at work. Neither woman did anything except show up to her job that day.

A Glynn County jury convicted Humphreys of malice murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault in 2007. Since then, he has used every available appeal, including trips to the Georgia Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court, to delay the sentence a jury handed down. A Cobb County judge recently denied his latest request for a new trial, finding no valid legal reason for waiting decades to raise it. Now, with his execution date approaching, Humphreys is again asking the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to intervene.

Lori's mother, Linda Brown, has spent 23 years waiting for this case to end. "I'm still in favor of the death penalty for this man that took their lives," she told Fox News.
