Citizens Against Bahia Mar Fiasco

Editor’s Note: Congressional Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz (23rd District) Ted Deutch have egg on their faces after the County Commission 9-0 vote against the WAVE. DWS and Deutch threatened local officials pubicly, including in the media, with the cut off of future federal funds if the WAVE was killed. Time to vote Debbie and Teddy out to and get some representation in Congress that cares about how taxpayer money is spent at every level of govern From Mary Fertig I just got back from the County Commission where an astounding 9-0 unanimous vote against proceeding with The Wave brought an end to the project! Thank you to everyone who has attended the many meetings on this issue, written letters, spoken, made phone calls - it is done! Thank you to Commissioner Nan Rich who put the motion on the agenda and to the County Commissioners Holness, LaMarca, Udine, Bogen, Furr, Sharief, Geller and Ryan who joined Commissioner Rich in voting to end The Wave! Thank you to Mayor Dean Trantalis who came and spoke on our behalf - and by "our behalf" I mean the residents of Fort Lauderdale! With The Wave gone we can now focus on creating a public transportation system that works for our City and County. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/fl-sb-wave-streetcar-saga-returns-to-broward-commission-20180507-story.html
