Petition updateSTOP THE BAHIA MAR FIASCO AND THE WAVE TROLLEY FOLLYDR. WARREN STURMAN ANSWERS FALSE ALLEGATIONS
Citizens Against Bahia Mar Fiasco
Mar 8, 2018
Dear Friends, By now many of you are probably aware of the allegations made by my opponent, Ben Sorensen, that I used the tragic events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to raise money for my campaign. This is absolutely false, and I have made Ben Sorenson aware that his statements are not correct. Please see below: “Dear Dr. Sorensen, You posted a statement on your Facebook which is blatantly false that ‘Warren Sturman's PAC Uses Shooting At Marjory Stoneman Douglas To Raise Money For His Campaign.’ The PAC in question does not belong to me nor did any funds raised by this PAC in connection with the tragic events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in any way benefit my campaign. It is my understanding that no funds have been raised at this time into the PAC from Parkland and that the effort was an undertaking by a consultant working with families in Parkland. The consultant was also working on my campaign, and, immediately upon finding out about the connection with Parkland, I severed my relationship with the consultant. Once before you spread false rumors about my family. I thought we had gotten past that type of campaigning. For the record, I am formally requesting that you refrain from making personal and false allegations and stay focused on the issues of this campaign. The issues facing our City are real and significant and deserve our full attention. Warren Sturman” I will keep you informed of my opponent’s response. Warren
