We, the undersigned users of GitHub, are writing to express our deep concern and frustration regarding the recent suspension of numerous user accounts without adequate explanation.

We believe that the suspension of user accounts without clear and transparent reasons has a significant negative impact on the GitHub community. It can lead to:

• Loss of valuable contributions: Suspended users may have been actively contributing to open-source projects, and their absence can hinder progress.
• Damage to reputation: Suspensions can unfairly tarnish the reputation of users, potentially impacting their professional and personal lives.
• Losing trust in the platform: The lack of transparency and due process can remove trust in GitHub as a platform for developers.

We urge the GitHub support team to:

• Provide clear and concise explanations for all account suspensions, outlining the specific violations that led to the action.
• Implement a fair and transparent appeal process that allows suspended users to challenge the decision and provide evidence in their defense.
• Re-evaluate suspended accounts to identify any cases where the suspension may have been unwarranted or excessive (recently many of the suspensions come under this).
• Communicate openly and honestly with the community about the reasons for suspensions and any changes made to the platform's policies.
