UCO has recently discontinued the opportunity for continuing and transfer students to apply to the President's Leadership Council and the Leaders of Tomorrow leadership programs. This decision stops countless talented and deserving students from accessing the unique growth and support that the PLC/LOT programs offer. These programs provide more than just leadership skills; they offer a wonderful community, financial support, and a platform for students to change their lives and those of others around them.

We urge the UCO administration to reverse this decision. By reinstating applications for continuing and transfer students, UCO can uphold its commitment to inclusivity and leadership development for all students, not just those straight out of high school. Every student, regardless of their educational background, deserves the chance to access these life-changing opportunities.

In addition, the students already in these councils who had come in via the continuing/transfer process are some of the most impactful leaders both in these councils and on campus. Some of these members have currently, and in the past, served on the PLC and LOT Executive Boards, and would never have gotten the chance to make such a difference if it were not for the chance they were given as a continuing or transfer student.
