Yesterday, we filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of the transfers and recruits of the UC Davis Division I equestrian team. The complaint raises serious concerns regarding fraud. We are deeply disappointed that matters have reached this point; however, all of our requests for access to the data used to justify the elimination of the team, and for a meeting to discuss that data, have been denied.

The limited information we have been able to obtain has proven to be false and/or misleading. Although we shared our analysis with university administrators, we have yet to receive a response.

This is not about budget constraints.

This is not about the university’s realignment. UC Davis is, at its core, an agricultural institution.

This issue extends far beyond the equestrian team, and we remain committed to pursuing accountability.
