Reinstate the Affiliation of Youth Cutting Horse Events in Western Australia
The issue
As a deeply affected member of the cutting horse community in Western Australia, I have witnessed first-hand the negative impact of WACHA's decision to cease running affiliated Junior Youth and Senior Youth Cutting Horse Events. This decision has been detrimental to our junior and senior youth who are now unable to receive points towards National Standings. Our young riders, full of potential and passion for this sport, are being penalized.
Cutting horse events are not just competitions; they provide a platform for our youth to develop skills such as discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship while fostering their love for horses.
Participation in equestrian sports like cutting can significantly contribute towards physical health and mental well-being among young people. By disaffiliating these events, we risk depriving our youth of these benefits.
We urge WACHA committee members to reconsider their decision and reinstate Junior Youth and Senior Youth Affiliated Cutting Horse Events. Let's support our youth riders' dreams instead of hindering them. Please sign this petition if you believe that every young rider should have an equal opportunity at achieving national recognition through their hard work and dedication.
