My journey as an Environment Technician student at Frost Campus has been a rewarding one. However, the recent suspension of 29 programs due to government caps on international students is threatening not just my future, but also the dreams of many others.

I am fortunate that I am already enrolled in my program, and thus not directly affected by these suspensions. But what about those who are yet to start their educational journey? What about those who aspire to become Environment Technicians or enter into Environmental Law Enforcement - a program which has also been suspended?

This abrupt decision prevents prospective students from getting the education they desire and becoming who they want to be. It's disheartening that we have started this college journey with now no finish line in sight.

The government's cap on international students is impacting our ability to learn, grow and contribute positively towards society. Education should be accessible for all, regardless of nationality or location.

We urge the relevant authorities to reconsider this decision and reinstate these 29 programs immediately. This will ensure that every aspiring student gets an equal opportunity at education and can become who they want to be.
