Reinstate the 2000-2015 Boomerang Logo and Branding!

The Issue

I am as strong advocate for the true essence of Boomerang, the 24-hour cable television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery which was initially launched as a venue for older animated programming from the extensive libraries of Warner Bros. The channel's very name, "Boomerang," is an embodiment of the spirit of nostalgia, heralding the return of loved childhood animations, which is why it's so disheartening to see its shift to featuring 95% modern day shows.

Fondly, we remember the 2000-2015 era when Boomerang upheld its distinctive identity, representing itself with a unique logo and branding that communicated "It's all coming back to you!" This was the mantra of the channel, promoted at every commercial break, emphasizing not just its nostalgic content but its mission to bring back the good old days of animation.

Despite understanding the need to introduce shows from the 2000s and early 2010s that are no longer active on Cartoon Network, Boomerang should resist the urge to predominantly feature modern day cartoons that are currently being aired on Cartoon Network. After all, the network is not just Cartoon Network, it’s "Boomerang from Cartoon Network" - a channel that celebrates the past.

  • The Boomerang Christmas Party
    • This block, which aired every December, features a collection of Hanna-Barbera Christmas specials (such as The Powerpuff Girls: Twas the Fight Before Christmas, Yogi's First Christmas, Christmas Comes to Pac-Land, Casper's First Christmas, The Jetsons' First Christmas and The Flintstones' Christmas).
  • Halloween block
    • This block aired during the month of October, and included Halloween-themed programs such as Scooby-Doo, Casper, The Addams Family (in its live-action as well as animated incarnations), Beetlejuice, The Funky Phantom, Goober and the Ghost Chasers and The Munsters.

We ask Warner Bros. Discovery to heed the voices of long-standing fans and retain the essence of Boomerang. It’s time to bring back the vintage logo and truly revive the brand that promised to bring fond memories rushing back. Sign this petition to support the resurrection of the classic Boomerang brand.
