Justice for Marshall's Animals - Restore Our Shelter!
We, the undersigned residents of Marshall and Saline County, are outraged by the shocking shutdown of our beloved Saline Animal League. This dedicated no-kill animal shelter and adoption center was abruptly evicted without warning by the Marshall Police Department, displacing dozens of vulnerable rescued animals and leaving them traumatized and at severe risk.
This appears to be an egregious abuse of power and violation of the League's rights. The police claim about an expired license has been clearly refuted by the League itself with proof of an active, valid license. Such extreme action to shut down a nonprofit providing a vital, life-saving community service raises serious questions about ulterior motives.
We demand the following restorative justice for Saline Animal League:
Immediately revoke license revocation and allow League to reopen and resume operations at existing Marshall shelter location
Formal apology from Mayor and City Council for trauma inflicted on animals and organization
Independent investigation into police misconduct leading toLeague's eviction
Pass legislation at city and state level to protect animal shelters from arbitrary closures
The Saline Animal League has been a pillar of our community for over 25 years, finding loving homes for thousands of animals. Let your voice be heard that Marshall's animals still desperately need them. Sign this petition calling for justice and restoration today!
