We want to congratulate our Community Council for securing temporary funding to provide a 15-week pilot community bus on the Sandford–Strathaven route. This will go a long way to assisting with the immediate safety of children who have to travel to and from school. 👏

However, it’s important to be clear:

• This is not a permanent solution.

• It is not a designated school bus service.

• The responsibility to ensure safe and sustainable transport remains firmly with South Lanarkshire Council.

We will continue to press the Council to deliver a lasting solution, whether through reinstating school transport or implementing proper safety measures on the walking route.
