Our petition now stands at 1,051 signatures, a clear sign that the community and beyond are united in demanding safe school transport for Sandford pupils. 🙏

Yesterday we updated you that South Lanarkshire Council will not take the petition forward through their Petitions Committee, as they claim it relates to a “recent consultation.” Instead, the matter has now been escalated into the Council’s Stage 2 Complaints Procedure (Ref: 2623681), ensuring they must provide us with a full, formal response.

In light of this rejection, we have already submitted further press releases to ensure this decision is publicly scrutinised and that the voices of over 1,000 supporters are not dismissed.

Alongside this:

✅ Councillor Elise Frame and MSP Màiri McAllan continue to support our campaign, with Màiri raising this directly with the Council’s Executive Director.

✅ MP Joani Reid has noted our concerns and is seeking clarity from the Council on their road safety checks.

✅ Our Freedom of Information request (submitted 22/08) is due by 20/09 and will provide vital transparency on how the so-called “safe route” assessment was carried out.

✅ Media coverage from the Daily Record, Lanarkshire Live, Carluke Gazette, and That’s TV ensures this campaign remains firmly in the spotlight.

This is far from over. We will continue to hold the Council accountable until either safe transport is reinstated or genuine safety measures are introduced.

👉 Please keep signing, sharing, and talking about this campaign. Together, our voices cannot be ignored.
