Reinstate public executions for capital murder convictions

The Issue

For the past 20 years, I've witnessed some of the most heinous crimes committed by individuals who exhibit no remorse for their actions. This issue struck a personal chord with me recently when Tanner Horner brutally murdered a seven-year-old girl outside her own home. Such senseless and callous acts of violence leave permanent scars on the families of victims and ignite a burning desire for justice within communities.

We need to turn our attention back to a form of deterrent that serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences for committing such dreadful acts. Public executions, conducted with dignity and solemnity, should be reinstated for those convicted of capital murder. This petition advocates for a legislative review and the reintroduction of public executions as a means of delivering a stronger message that society will not tolerate such horrors.

Public executions have historically served as a deterrent to potential criminals and a way to show that justice has been served in a transparent manner. Bringing them back could potentially prevent future atrocities and provide closure to families who have suffered from the actions of these ruthless individuals.

To achieve this, we urge lawmakers to consider the reinstatement of public executions under strict legal frameworks and modernized approaches to prevent any form of spectacle, ensuring the dignity of all involved. By forcing society to confront the violent consequences of heinous crimes, this measure seeks to reduce the occurrence of such brutal acts and ensure a safer community.

Join me in calling for this change. We must stand united in ensuring that justice is both seen and felt, serving as a somber testimony to the punishment of those who have irrevocably harmed families and others. Please sign this petition to make our voices heard and show our unwavering commitment to justice, deterrence, and transparency.
