Dear Petition Supporter

Thank you for standing up for academic values and free speech at Australia’s oldest university.  

The university of Sydney was constituted with deliberate intent to transplant into this country, the academic values that had helped to build the 19th century, and that have further supported growth in the health and prosperity of the Nation ever since.  

It is unconscionable that the fine institution of the University of Sydney has been taken over by managerial bean counters, entirely disconnected from the fundamental values upon which all academic work depends. 

Your signature sends a much needed message to these over-empowered administrative operatives, that the functions of the University and the people who do the work of the University, matter more than their petty power posturing.  

The first 24 hours of the petition has gained over 70 signatures, which is great.  

I write now asking you to please forward the petition to your friends, family and colleagues, asking them to join us in our efforts to restore the university by defending academic values.
