The Issue
Our high school team, a group of dedicated and hardworking athletes, has been striving relentlessly throughout the year to hone their skills and represent our school and community proudly. However, due to a clerical oversight on our official MIAA Tournament and Commitment form, their eligibility to compete in the WMASS Tournament has been unjustly revoked.
This issue stems from our regular-season schedule, which inadvertently excluded the "final designated game" entry. This entry was initially meant to be the "TBA PVIAC Championship Game" but was not filled in. The oversight was purely administrative, and it does not reflect the capabilities or competitive spirit displayed by our team.
The players, coaches, and supporters have invested countless hours preparing for this opportunity, looking forward to showcasing their talents on a larger stage. They have followed all the rules and regulations, making it incredibly disheartening for both players and supporters to witness their dreams being thwarted due to a simple form-entry mistake.
Allowing the team to compete as intended will not only honor the hard work they have put in but also maintain the integrity of the tournament, as our team earned its spot fair and square based on performance. The tournament should be a celebration of the athletes' dedication and not be marred by procedural errors.
We urge the relevant authorities to review and rectify this situation and reinstate our team’s eligibility. Let these athletes play and let them earn their success through competition.
Please sign this petition to support our team and ensure that they are given the rightful chance to compete in the WMASS Tournament.
