The Issue

I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a palpable sense of urgency. My university  Campus has been much more than a place of study and work for me; it is my second home, a sanctuary where I have invested countless hours as an Undergraduate, a Postgraduate, and now as an employee and PhD student. However, since September 2025, I have found myself in a distressing predicament, battling against institutional failings (dating back to the spring of 2025) that have unfairly restricted my access to this very Campus.

This situation began unexpectedly and has drastically affected my life. Despite my dedication and loyalty to the institution over many years, I have faced restrictions that threaten not only my academic pursuits but also my professional career and mental and physical wellbeing. The thought of being unjustly severed from a community to which I have devoted so much of my life is both alarming and disheartening.

I have already won 2 Appeals.
Firstly, I won my my Appeal against unfair dismissal in March 2026, with independent findings that the University had failed in their duty of care to me in multiple counts, including: -

  • Failures of the university to refer me to Occupational Health on repeated occasions (dating back to spring 2025) in the full prior knowledge of my existing health conditions; despite my line managers and colleagues being aware that my mental health was  over weeks and months, I received no support, help, or assistance with this.
  • Failures of the university to consider reasonable alternatives (such as flexible working/ working from home etc) when I had suffered a substantial decline in my health
  • Procedural Unfairness (there was an attempt in February to dismiss me due to the campus restrictions preventing me from  attending my job in-person; subsequent findings established that this was grossly unfair and had seen management and HR demonstrate  negligence and malpractice, retrospectively applying such ‘dismissal’ to my two separately- contracted roles.
  • Breaching the Equality Act 2010, in enacting  discrimination against a person who is registered with a disability

Secondly I won my Appeal to have the ‘TUS’ (‘temporary suspension form the university’) properly lifted, which had been unfairly imposed on me and was overturned by a Pro Vicd Chancellor after establishing the clear mishandling from the so-called ‘Student Conduct Officer’. Winning this Appeal saw me being properly re-instated/ re-enrolled as a Student (though in a remote capacity). Having this indicated that even the senior leadership team have little confidence in the so-called ‘Student Conduct Officer’ ( a separate Formal Complaint has now been issued against this person, as confirmed in writing by the Head of Employment Relations).

Nonetheless, thus far, my appeals to the university administration on lifting the physical in-person restrictions have not been heard. Despite being informed (in Dec 2025) that I / me :

  • ”Shall return to the university following the Spring break”
  • “restrictions will be lifted from Monday 4 May 2026”

This was also upheld in a ‘Completion of Procedures’ Letter in January 2026, which confirmed that the December decision unanimously ‘stands’.

Yet, despite me waiting 6 months to return, the University have contravened their statements, committed unfair practice, and breached terms of settlement. I believe this is a clear case of mishandling and a failure to uphold the ethical standards that should guide an educational institution. The absence of transparency and fairness in addressing my situation has left me with little choice but to turn to this petition as a way to seek justice and restoration.

Supporting evidence of these institutional failings can be seen in the lack of communication and the unjustifiable decision-making processes that have left me stranded. Over the years, I have contributed positively to the university community, only to find myself unjustly excluded.

I am calling on the university to review its decision and reinstate my access to the Campys, allowing me to continue my in-person studies, contribute as an employee in-person, and restore my mental health and wellbeing.

I am also requesting due compensation and formal public apologies for the many multiple failings and injustices which I have been the victim of over a long-term period.

By signing this petition, you will not only support me in my personal struggle but also advocate for fairness and due process within educational institutions.

Please, help me return to my second home, where I can continue to grow, contribute, and thrive. Your signature can make a significant impact. Sign this petition to show your support and demand a review of my case.
