A respected and beloved teacher at Hickory Ridge High School was publicly scrutinized and suspended for a personal social media post that caused no disruption and contained no hate speech or slurs. He simply voiced his opinion on his personal account about politics, completely separate from his classroom practices. He exercised his First Amendment right and was unjustly doxxed, as the party contacted the school to complain and incited others to follow suit. This resulted in his suspension from Hickory Ridge High school and ongoing investigation. We as students have felt his absence deeply, as he is a mentor and an inspiring educator for all. Without him, we have no one to teach AP Human Geography and one less smiling face in the mornings and after school. 

We call on the district and the Cabarrus County School Board to continue his employment and allow him to keep supporting students.
