This petition narrates the unfortunate story of Medsafe Transport, a minority-owned business serving vulnerable citizens in Long Island, NY, USA with essential non emergency medical transportation services. For the past seven years, Medsafe has built an irreplaceable bond with its clients, offering care, support, and immeasurable comfort besides transportation services. The lifeblood of our service, our employees and the business owner, have built a lifestyle around this profession, and the abrupt termination of our contract with Medical Answering Services (MAS) on January 15, 2024 has thrown their livelihoods into disaster. 

The ripple effects of unsurpassed hardships can't be ignored. Our clients, often frail, incapacitated, or disabled, rely on us for their livelihood. And now, they are out in the cold with no trusted service provider. The impacts are not limited to clients alone. Our dedicated employees and their families have also been harshly affected, facing income loss and unprecedented hardships.

Medsafe Transport owes its existence to community service, and to its imperative role, it has underscored its sterling reputation as a reliable provider. Now, the deprivation of such necessary services affects not just individuals but our community at large, and this calls to mind what we stand for: Caring for each other in times of need. Therefore, we urge you to recognize the negative impacts of this termination and support our call to reinstate the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation contract between Medsafe Transport and MAS.
