Parking charges are discouraging customers from visiting the city during vital evening hours. Businesses are suffering, livelihoods are at stake, and the vibrant atmosphere of Victoria is slowly ebbing away. Statistics show a clear correlation - cities with free evening parking have a thriving night economy (Parking Today, 2020). I am not alone in this. Many Victoria dwellers share my sentiments, watching helplessly as their favorite spots are boarded up. We urge the city council to reconsider their decision.
