The Issue

As a passionate cat owner and lover, I've come to appreciate the joy and comfort that cats bring into our lives. One such feline, Frank, wasn't just any ordinary cat – he was a beloved fixture at the Sainsbury's Olney branch. Frank was adored not just by cat enthusiasts but by the entire community who saw him as a local celebrity and cherished character. For many, a visit to Sainsbury's wasn't complete without seeing Frank lazing around or offering a friendly meow.

Since Frank's removal, the heart of our community seems a little less warm. The joy that Frank imparted wasn't insignificant; it was a symbol of community warmth, delight, and companionship. Many of us looked forward to seeing him during our shopping, his presence brightening our day. His absence now marks an unwelcome change in the local landscape, diminishing the unique charm that made the Olney branch stand out.

Store cats, like Frank, serve an important role in their communities. They create a friendly environment that encourages shoppers to visit, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Frank is more than just an animal; he is a link between the store and its customers, creating a unique shopping experience that is cherished by many.

We understand that there are guidelines that stores must adhere to, but there have been successful examples of store cats being reinstituted under supervised circumstances, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both the cat and customers. We propose a balanced solution to bring Frank back, to his designated area outside the store that respects all safety standards.

Let's unite to bring Frank back to where he belongs, enriching our community once more with his delightful presence. Please sign this petition to show Sainsbury's how important Frank is to all of us. Together we can ensure that Frank's charm and personality continue to light up our days!
