Jul 29, 2026
Phase 1 of the review on Falkirk's subsidised bus services ended last Friday (24th July). The survey is now in phase 2 which started on Monday (27th July) and is available until 23rd August.
The main findings of the survey included:
- Many people found the fares too expensive and would like to see a fare cap (the Scottish Government are actively pushing for this).
- The current services are unreliable, infrequent or don't run to key destinations such as GP surgeries, Hospitals & Supermarkets.
- Connections between bus services and with rail services are very poor.
- Many people have also raised concerns about the lack of services in Skinflats and to/from FVRH (there was even multiple suggestions for the reinstatement of a direct bus service between Polmont and FVRH).
The full summary can be viewed here:
Phase 3 which is the summary of the next steps in relation to the review will be available from 24th August, in the meantime please keep signing and sharing.
