Reinstate Dining Area in the 420 Court Ave. Hyvee Grocery Store

Reinstate Dining Area in the 420 Court Ave. Hyvee Grocery Store
The Issue
As an individual who works in downtown Des Moines, frequently visiting the Hy-Vee location at 420 Court Ave. for lunch has been a routine. It's always been an easy place to grab a bite and take a brief moment for myself amidst the hustle of the workday. The convenience of warm food and ample seating to enjoy it, a simple but vital offering, was greatly appreciated.
However, this was not the case recently. Imagine the surprise to find all tables and chairs removed from the food court area with no warning. The space that once provided respite, now replaced by shelves for a new "Health Food" section. There are groceries aplenty in Hy-Vee, but the lack of a seating area portrays a disregard for the needs of us who relied on it for a comfortable meal.
This sudden change negatively impacts our lunchtime experience. As per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 47,000 people work in downtown Des Moines, many of whom may rely on these facilities just like me. Without a place to eat other than a crowded office space or braving the unpredictable Iowan weather outdoors, this change effects us all.
Therefore, let's urge Hy-Vee management to rethink their decision and reinstate the dining area inside the 420 Court Ave location. Respect the needs and the conveniences of your regular customers who frequent your store, not just for groceries, but also for a moment of peace and a warm meal during hectic workdays.
Please, sign this petition to bring back the seating area at Hy-Vee for eating lunch.
