Reinstate Authenticity in Netflix's Bridgerton Series

Reinstate Authenticity in Netflix's Bridgerton Series
The Issue
As a devoted reader of the Bridgerton book series, these books served as a lifeline during personal troubled experiences. Their discrepancy with the televised adaptation on Netflix is thus deeply disheartening. It is petitioned that Netflix's adaptation of Bridgerton should adhere more faithfully to the original texts, particularly in regards to preserving the historical atmosphere, the integrity of characters and the original plot.
In the third season, Netflix changed everything. High on the list of grievances is the modern makeup. Period dramas like Bridgerton, set in Regency-era England, should aim to reflect the aesthetics of the time, including makeup techniques.
Justice for Penelope and Colin has also fallen by the wayside. Their nuanced characterisations in the books have been replaced with less developed versions in the series. Similarly, the re-inclusion of Michael Sterling would respect the original narrative and please devoted book fans.
Finally, it's requested Netflix firm up their adherence to the books' original material. Statistical studies show that faithful book adaptations perform better critically and commercially than liberal adaptations. More faithful adaptations not only respect the author’s original intentions but also satisfy the series' seasoned book fans.
Bring back the feeling we fell in love with in the first two seasons of Bridgerton! Please sign this petition to stand with us in advocating for a more authentic adaptation of this beloved series.
