We’ve reached our first 30 signatures, and I want to sincerely thank every person who has signed and supported this petition.

Thirty signatures may be the beginning, but every movement for change starts with people deciding that something matters enough to speak up.

This petition is about something that affects every one of us: access to timely, reliable health care in Alberta.

Albertans are facing long emergency-room waits, delays for diagnostic testing and surgery, pressure on existing hospitals, and shortages of the health-care professionals needed to keep beds, operating rooms and services running.

At the same time, Edmonton continues to grow.

I believe we need to look seriously at our long-term health-care capacity—including reconsidering the South Edmonton Hospital project, strengthening recruitment and retention of health-care professionals, and exploring a major urgent-care and diagnostic facility as part of a renewed South Edmonton health campus.

But for this petition to reach the people who can make decisions, it needs to grow.

Could you do one small thing for me today?

Please share this petition directly with three people—a friend, family member, neighbour or coworker—and ask them to read it and sign if they agree.
