In Alberta, a beacon of hope once existed in the form of the South Edmonton hospital, a project announced with much optimism but later put indefinitely on hold due to provincial budget cuts. Its absence leaves the southern regions of Edmonton overburdened, putting undue pressure on existing medical facilities while jeopardizing the health and well-being of thousands.
