My brother and I used to bond during lunchtime by playing chess on Chess.com. This simple, yet meaningful activity brought us closer together and provided a much-needed break from the rigors of school life. However, this opportunity has been taken away from us as our school in Paradise Valley, AZ, USA has blocked access to Chess.com.

Chess is not just a game; it's an educational tool that promotes strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. According to a study conducted by the University of Memphis (2013), students who play chess show significant improvements in cognitive abilities and academic performance.

Moreover, blocking access to Chess.com is not only depriving students of an educational tool but also an opportunity for social interaction. 

We are calling upon the school administration to reconsider their decision and reinstate access to Chess.com on school computers. We believe that this action will greatly benefit the student body by promoting intellectual growth while providing opportunities for social interaction.
