Reinstall The IKE letters to The Ike Cadets
The Issue

Hello, If you are a Eisenhower High School Yakima Cadet Alumni from 1957 all the way to 2013, You Probably get what i am doing, for those whom dont, when our old school came down in 2013, the letters on our gym were preserved before the demolition, If the North yakima high school sign was saved and the district put it on a beautiful hill, then WE CADETS DESERVE OUR HISTORY TO! We Need People and the district to Help Us And Our Alumni Retrieve The IKE Letters from the storage room at the current Eisenhower building so we can put them on the Current Eisenhower building to be placed on the auditorium wall overlooking Tieton! this makes the letters as visible as the old gym, Now Come together cadets as we plead for its return, you know what those big IKE metal letters meant to every IKE cadet

The Class of 70 Worked hard to shape, assemble, and paint those letters as There own special senior gift To be displayed on the Old campus gym, Aka The Dwight house, They Fought Congress For the ok and Went through A lot to get the approval from government, They were up there on the gym for more then 30 years, first painted light blue in 1970:

followed by red white and blue in the 1998 beautification project:

But it was these letters that watched over us, part of what made our school ours, Even when Former Vice President Dick Cheney Visited Ike on July 31 2004, he admired the identity of the school Saying "I notice we're in the eisenhower school" and Talked about the impact Eisenhower Left on his life as a person, on his own marriage, and the life’s of others, When the building came down in 2013, The class of 70 made sure those letters were saved. They're still out there, in storage at the current campus, waiting to return as the landmark it always have been, yes maybe the paint weared of overtime from eras in storage but paint dosent define our school, the letters do, and every new paint job in patriotic or og colors is a refresh of that beautiful spirit we always had and shared, We want to bring them back, Not to some warehouse or storage unit, but back where they belong—on the on the auditorium wall overlooking tieton, visible to everyone who walks that campus.

For alumni from many eras of the cadet spirit, from 1957 to 1970 from 1970 to 1998 from 1998 to 2013 and the other era, this isn't just about nostalgia. It's about having something tangible that says there time there mattered. If you were part of the Cadet Alumni, or if you believe this piece of school history deserves to be seen again, we need the district and people like you to help make this happen. Does this resonate with you? Were you part of that era, and do you think those letters should come home?
