WHEREAS:

The City of Windsor incurred significant costs managing the February 2022 Ambassador Bridge Blockade;

The reimbursement from the federal government to the city was short nearly $1 million;

The financial burden on Windsor residents has intensified as the city is forced to dip into its capital reserves originally earmarked for essential projects, further straining community initiatives;

THEREFORE: 

We, the undersigned citizens and residents of Windsor and Canada, urge the federal government to reimburse the remainder of the funds owed to Windsor, ensuring that the city receives the necessary support to recover from the economic challenges exacerbated by the pandemic and border restrictions.
